
Before we left for Vietnam (June 2024), a US Army Vietnam Veteran presented us with a wallet that belonged to a Viet Cong soldier. We showed the general in charge of the organization the wallet and they will be working to try to locate any living relative of the soldier. We spoke about US MIA artifacts in museums and the need for those items to be returned to US families.

It was very meaningful to all in attendance when we returned the battle flag artifact back to Vietnam. The flag had been provided to Mission through our Operation: H.E.A.R.T program.
Thanks to our partners at Healing Through History for providing information on a potential mass grave of Vietnamese soldiers. This very special turnover of information resonated the need for information exchanges to facilitate continued mutual cooperation.
While seated around the table, we discussed advancing many projects, including the use of imagery, underwater drones, and artifact exchanges between countries.

Mission POW-MIA was in NYC Sept 22, 2025 to meet with the President of Vietnam and take part in an artifact exchange. We have been quietly pursuing and negotiating with the Vietnamese for 5 months. ID cards were presented to two family members tonight and 3 additional items were turned over to DPAA. We turned over flags and a certificate
Mission POW-MIA was in NYC Sept 22, 2025 to meet with the President of Vietnam and take part in an artifact exchange. We have been quietly pursuing and negotiating with the Vietnamese for 5 months. ID cards were presented to two family members tonight and 3 additional items were turned over to DPAA. We turned over flags and a certificate recovered during the war by a Green Beret. The Green Beret had turned the items over to us earlier in the year.

During a visit to Vietnam on Nov 2, 2025, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth exchanged artifacts with Vietnamese Defense Minister Phan Van Giang. The artifacts were provided by Mission: POW-MIA.
